Now if it's backcountry ponds that interest you, then try a float tube adventure. In New Hampshire, we visit the White Mountain National Forest most often. In Maine, the Moosehead Lakes Region's abundant backcountry ponds make the choices endless.
The Eastern Brook Trout is our quarry. A float tube allows you to get closer to rising fish than you can in a boat or canoe. These backcountry ponds are sometimes aerially stocked, but some are truly wild trout fisheries. Even the stocked ponds only get a fingerling stocking and therefore the mature trout are wild in appearance and attitude. The wildlife that appears on the shores is just as wild.
You bring the waders, rod and vest and we'll supply the rest. Using the most advanced tubes, fins and pack frames, you'll be comfortable on the walk in as well as on the water.
The remoteness of these ponds makes them hidden gems. The wildlife and scenery are incredible.
Plan a New England fall adventure and catch Mother Nature and the fishing at their best.
Make no mistake about it, walking into these magnificent remote ponds requires some physical effort, but it's all worth it.
